Campsite Cancellations Formatter
- Select your campground, site#, start date and number of nights. The formatter will automatically create the text needed for your site cancellation message as well as include a link to the site and photos.
- Click the 'Copy to Clipboard' Button to copy the message
- Click the 'Return to NY State Campsite Cancellations Facebook page'
- Now use your device 'paste' functionality to create a new post back on the NY State Campsite Cancellations Facebook page

In general the most popular campgrounds have short form abbreviations such as Fish Creek (fc or fcp), Rollins (ro or rp), Wellesley Isand (wi), Lewey Lake (ll), Moffitt Beach (mb). For a full list check out the Campground Abbreviations. Otherwise just type one of the main unique keywords of the campground name. IE for Lake Eation you can use 'eaton'. For Buck Pond use 'buck'.
Campsite Cancellation Formatter Help
This tool is intended for members of the New York State Campsite Cancellations Facebook Group to prepare a posting/notice of a current or upcoming campsite cancellation. This includes any campsites that you notice are available at any campground as well as any campsite that you have just cancelled, or intent to cancel in the near future.
- I just noticed an available campsite that campers might be interested in:
- Use the formatter and select 'Current Available/Cancelled Site'.
- I have a campsite that I will be cancelling shortly and wish to offer it to a member of the New York State Campsite Cancellations Group:
- Use the formatter and select 'Offer My Site to Another Camper'
Having selected a 'Choose a Cancellation Option you will now select the campground, site, start date and number of nights. Add any additional comments you have about the site, or if you are offering the site to someone, you can ask them to PM you. Press 'Format Cancellation!' and the appropriate text to post will be displayed along with a photo of the site (if available). This will create a consistent message which will include detailed site information (site length, hookups and whether or not it is a watersite) along with full date info. Now click 'Copy to Clipboard'. You can now click on the 'Return to NY State Campsite Cancellation' to return to the Facebook group to post the message using your device paste functionality. Optionally on a mobile phone you can simply swipe back to the Facebook app and paste the message into a new post on the group.
Be sure to pay it forward by posting your upcoming cancellation using this tool to the Facebook Group! You might choose to just cancel your site and post it on the group to notice others of the sites availability. Optionally you can choose to offer it to other interested group members. In this case you can then respond to your post to let you know they are interested in the site. You can then arrange via private messaging to cancel the site online or via phone while the person who is going to rebook the site standsby.
