Site 101 like most is quite open with no privacy
The campground is a mix of very open manicured grassy areas with the occasional tree, to some areas that are more wooded and offer excellent shade. Most sites are quite level and are easy to get onto. Sites at Cedar Point offer little to no privacy.
Site 12 offers one of the best views of the St Lawrence
None of the sites are directly on the water, or offer water access, however the sites right on the point, sites 1-20, offer an excellent view out onto the St Lawrence. This is the area to be in for the river views and freighter watching. This area also offers 17 full hookup sites, and another 10 with electric. Sites with the best views are 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 16, 16 and 18. These sites are electric only and have a $4 surcharge for the water view. Needless to say, sites in this area are my favorite choice.
Cedar Point is most popular for campers with travel trailers and RV's.
Sites between 44 and 72 are quite shady and popular with tenters
Sites between 44 and 72 offer the most shade, at least once the trees are out in full bloom. These sites tend to be best suited for smaller trailers or tents.Sites oriented in the center of the campground are great choices if you are going to be hanging out at the beach or have your boat moored at one of the boat slips. This would includes sites 59-72 and 78-87.
Site 128 like others on this site of the road have a slope
Back from the marina area, there is a gradual slope up through the sites from the row marked by site 96 through 130. Not a big deal, but some sites will have a bit of a sloped, which you should be able to see from the site photos. These tend to be the least popular sites.
Sites in the 138-168 area offer a mix of electric and full hookup
Sites in the newly upgrade area, sites 138-168 are also quite popular, as they are all either electric or full hookup. They are the farthest however from the river.
Having camped here a few times, I would have to say Cedar Point is quite a busy campground in the summer months and does feel overcrowded, perhaps since in most areas there is not much tree buffer. Mind you the sites are spaced out quite well for the most part. There are just a lot of people, and a lot of cars visible from no matter where you are. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this may not be the place for you.
One of the advantages of Cedar Point, is its proximity to Clayton, a great destination tourist town which is bustling in the summer months.

Cedar Point is a very popular campground and most of the popular sections are booked up quickly. You will need to book out the 9 months in advance to get any of the sites near the water especially. Any full hookup sites or electric sites are always first to go as well.
