As happens in life at times, I just booked the Grande this week for next January and then the same day, I saw your post at TTO. That took me to your website on the Grande. I must say sir, you have a true skill with the web and photography. I look forward to the rest of your report on the Grande. I have to blame you for making my wait for next January, pure hell. :-) I though I was going to be able to just book it and then forget about it for a while. Now because of your pictures and website, there is no way I can. Thanks again! Mike

Dave and Kate - As always you have the most awesome pictures and story to tell. I just told my husband that we may have to go to SGSL our next trip. I am interested in the type of camera you use. I am also a big photo fanatic. You are very creative in your pictures and it gives me good ideas. Thanks for sharing your website.

Nice site you have started here, can't wait until it finished. My husband and I are going to Sandals Grande St. Lucia in April 2006 and are very excited about it. We just came back from Sandals Whitehouse and we loved it. You can find a trip report for SWH on chris-n-cheryl.com under whitehouse reviews. My board name is jamaicagirl (no particular reason). Anyway, just wanted to let you know I am looking forward to your progress on it.

OK, first let me say "how cute you both are". Your report and photos are sure selling me on Grande!! I hate flying (5 1/2 hours to jamaica just about does me in ha ha), but I think my hubby and I will have to go, it looks incredible. I absolutely love your presentation! FANTASTIC JOB!!! Thanks again Kim Ornelas, Sandals addict from California

Great Trip Report!! We are booked at the Grande for March 06. We stayed at Halcyon 2 yrs ago just when the Grande was opening and never took the opportunity to visit while we were there, figured it would be too busy with the new opening. Now we can't wait to go back to St. Lucia and we're very glad we booked the Grande. Based on your recommendations in the trip report, we have asked for either the Pidgeon Island or Bonne Terre building, since our room is probably going to be on the top floor. Since there are rooms on both sides of the buildings, we are wondering where the enterances are for the upper floor rooms, are there inside corridors? Where in Ontario are you from? We live in Watertown, NY just a short distance over the Thousand Islands bridge. Thanks again for the great report and we hope you can finish it soon.

Oops! Kate and I have been travelling so much this summer that I'm slow to finish this site. Alas we have one last big trip next week then we're back to a more normal schedule (ie more time to update our sites). Anyways thanks for all your comments. Glad to help others in their research to destination we have been too! ornelaskim: I too am not the best flyer. Chosing to go back to St Lucia was a challenge, but I managed fine. I prefer 3.5 hours or less on the plane. cindyp: We are in Ottawa Ontario. Just an hour north of upstate NY which is great since we almost live down there in the summer. As for entrances for the upper rooms of Pidgeon Island or Bonne Terre buildings, there are stairwells between each building that are accessible from both sides for easy access. I should be back to finishing this shortly. I'll post a message regarding any areas that have been updated. Cheers!

Hi Dave, hope all is well and you and Kate have enjoyed the summer as much as we have. We are wondering if you are going to have a chance to finish the pics and reports from the Grande in St. Lucia? I know we all are anxiously waiting. Our best to you both.

What an amazing site. You two look look the kind of people we love to run into when we head to the carribean every year!!! Going to the St. Lucian Grande in January, and after seeing your pix - cant wait. Thanks so much for posting them. Spent 2 hours browsing on a cold and dreary Virginia Saturday and it warmed me right up!! Would like to know what trip you were on when you got the photos of all the fish. Looks like a great area to schedule a snorkeling trip. E-mail if you have a chance and let me know. Thanks again for a great site!

Love all your Sandals pics. You two are the reflection of what Sandals is all about. We have been to Sandals 17 times and share a love of the resorts as you two show. Our next trip is to Dunns River April 1st. Can't wait to see the "new" property since all the renovations. Look forward to visiting with all our old friends. Last there in 2001. One question... How do you guys jump so high? he he Happy New Year. Tom & Ava Florida

Not sure about snorkelling at the Grande unforuntately Jack. Enjoy Dunns River Tom & Ava! SDR is one of our favorities! How do we jump so high? Its all in the rum! Actually its not that hard. The right camera position, and finger co-ordination is all you need (and a willing wife) :) Now that we're not so busy at work I really should get back to finishing this site, especially since we'll be off to Sandals Whitehouse for 10 days in March 06 and will no doubt have another site to build. Cheers! Dave

Hi Dave; do you guys remember when the buffet nights were at the Grande? We are not that keen on evening buffet and try to find the a la carte restaurants that are open during the buffet nights. I know that when we have been to Sandals properties in Jamaica, they normally have 2 buffet nights, International and Beach BBQ, but normally leave at least one a la carte restaurant open. Great photos; Gary & Norine Sandals Regency Feb 25-Mar 4th Sandals Grande Mar 4-Mar 12th(those FREE 8 nights from Whitehouse)
